Hospental sits at the foot of the Gotthard, Furka and Oberalp passes — an alpine crossroads for centuries, and today a warm stopover after a day on the piste, on tour or on the trail.
In summer, hikes of every length begin right at the front door — from the easy valley trail along the young Reuss to the historic mule track up to the Gotthard pass. The Ursern valley is known as the "water castle of Europe": the Rhine, Reuss, Rhone and Ticino all rise around the Gotthard massif. After the tour, our cosy garden awaits.
In winter, the Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis ski arena — the largest ski area in Central Switzerland — lies on the doorstep: around 180 kilometres of pistes, the freeride mecca Gemsstock, whose famous Guspis descent ends right in Hospental, and ski tours straight from the village. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers have a vast area to explore too.
Seven rooms with 55 beds in total — from four-bed family rooms to the mattress dorm, all freshly made up with warm duvets.
Generous breakfast buffet and a home-cooked two-course dinner, using regional and seasonal produce from Uri wherever possible.
Skiing, freeriding, ski touring, hiking and biking — all year round, straight from the front door. We're happy to advise, whatever the season.
Aside from the Sustenpass, all our alpine passes are now open again. Summer season has begun here — we look forward to welcoming you.

We're glad the Alpenbrevet starts in Andermatt again this year. Unfortunately we're already fully booked for that date.
