Where three passes meet.

Hospental sits at the foot of the Gotthard, Furka and Oberalp passes — an alpine crossroads for centuries, and today a warm stopover after a day on the piste, on tour or on the trail.

Welcome

A warm welcome

In summer, hikes of every length begin right at the front door — from the easy valley trail along the young Reuss to the historic mule track up to the Gotthard pass. The Ursern valley is known as the "water castle of Europe": the Rhine, Reuss, Rhone and Ticino all rise around the Gotthard massif. After the tour, our cosy garden awaits.

In winter, the Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis ski arena — the largest ski area in Central Switzerland — lies on the doorstep: around 180 kilometres of pistes, the freeride mecca Gemsstock, whose famous Guspis descent ends right in Hospental, and ski tours straight from the village. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers have a vast area to explore too.
